About
I build brands, businesses and occasionally make music.
I’m Drew. I run J Media Group, make records as Drewby, Vastel and South of Sunday and invest in a few companies I believe in.
I was born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area and was always drawn to music. I played sports as a kid, then found theater and the production side of it.
In high school I was in a rock band that wrote, recorded and played its own songs, with our parents driving us to gigs. It taught me every angle of the music business: production, web design, marketing and the business itself. That became how I approach business. People noticed, I was hired to build websites while I was still in high school, and it grew from there.
Welcome to my office. Have a look around.
On the turntable
Three projects. One turntable.
My best songs arrive almost ready, like they were waiting to pass through me into a guitar or a piano. I write the words out and record a demo, live with it for a while and change a few things. Once the song is done I open Logic Pro and build every layer of the finished track myself. Each project is a name for a sound I wanted to explore: Drewby is a sound I loved but didn’t want under my own name, Vastel is Afro house and electronic music, and South of Sunday is my own songs, retold as country.

Let’s make something.
Thirty minutes to talk it through.
